Who is your pick?

Well, the World Series is well under way and it has been exciting to say the least thus far. If you haven't been able to watch any of the series, let me give you a brief rundown. In the second game, the Chi Sox were down 4-2, but then they loaded the bases and the next batter hit a grand slam, making the score 4-6 with the Chi Sox in the lead. It looked promising, but in the top of the 9th inning, there were two runners on base and a Houston player hit a double sending in two runs to tie the game at 6-6. I was sweating bullets! (not really) Anyway, in the bottom of the 9th inning, the Chi Sox came back to win the game with a solo homerun! So exciting! Then they had Monday night off because the next group of games were going to be in Houston. So, the Chi Sox were in the lead 2-0 for the series when they went to Minute Maid stadium in Houston, TX. The fans there are known to increase the decibels in the stadium with their cheers to the point of forcing the opposing team lose concentration and ultimately the game. The third game was no less exciting than the second. I had practicum, so I wasnt able to start watching the game until around the 8th inning. I believe that the Chi Sox were up but then Houston was fighting to come back. Houston tied the game and it ended up going through 14 innings with the final result of the Chi Sox over the Stros 7-5. I wanted to stay up and watch the game, but I was whipped, so I had to go to sleep and I am glad that I did because the game ended up lasting until 1:20am!! There was a total of 17 pitchers used in this game between the two teams! The Chi Sox are now 3-0 for the series and I read on Charter's website that no team has come back and won a World Series after being down 3-0. So, my pick now and from the beginning of the series is the Chicago White Sox!!

Ok, so I am a redneck

Ok, so I was introduced to a show last week and I am absolutely hooked. The show is "Dog the Bounty Hunter". The man in the middle is Duane "Dog" Chapman. He was imprisoned when he was younger, but now he is one of the most saught after bounty hunter in these here United States. This is the pinnacle of all redneck shows and I hate to say it, but I am so hooked. This man claims to be a born again Christian, but he has the most foul language of anyone I have ever heard make words come out of their mouth. He and his wife and two of their sons make up a "team" of bounty hunters. This show is filled with excitement and suspicion. I would highly recommend it. It is featured on A&E on Tuesday nights, but they have re-runs on Wednesday nights. To find out more about this wacky show, click here.

What a difference a YEAR makes....

October 15, 2005

Wow, look at how much we have changed, not just physically, but in every aspect. The picture order for both pictures is Anna, Dena, Lauren, and Bonnie. These girls mean so much to me. They are honest with me when I am in the wrong and they keep me accountable. I am so blessed to be able to be considered their friend. How weird is it that we were able to take these pictures exactly a year apart? We totally didnt plan it that way!!

This is Chris just after he blew out his candles. As you can see we had to use those big long matches to the left of the picture. These matches are usually used to light my grill, but they had a secondary use at the party because my little white cliker lighter (also pictured) was evidently out of "stuff to make it light", so the only option was to light it with those long matches. Go us!!

We had a great time at the party and a big thanks goes out to all who were able to come and be a part of this special occasion. Much fun and much food was had by all.

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today is the birthday of this wonderful man! He means more to me than he will ever know. He keeps me laughing and I have had some of the best times of my life in the past six months. He has a desire to serve the Lord and to preach God's word and I am so thankful that he has allowed me to learn from him and to be a part of his life.

I knew when we rolled through the Wendy's drive-thru and we ended up ordering the same thing, that is was fate. We have kindred hearts, no for real, we do. We love so many of the same things and yet we are able to agree to disagree on the controversial things, such as who will be the winner of the SEC championship.

For real, if you havent had the opportunity to get to know this man, you are sadly missing out on a blessing. He brings light into my life every day with his humor and his love. The most important thing is that he loves the Lord more than he will ever love me and that is my first pre-requisite in dating relationships. Thank you Chris for all that you have done for me, I hope your birthday is a very happy one!

Jacka-box

Does anybody know what a jack-a-box is?? Hum, well let me tell you. My totally funny boyfriend let me know what this was last night. So, we are sitting on the couch watching TV while we should be studying and Chris has a cup in his hands that is filled with ice, which of course makes the cup…..yep, you guessed it…..cold. So, I am sitting Indian style on the couch as usual and sometimes Chris likes to put the cold cup on my feet because it makes me jump. So, he proceeds to try and do this, but I have cat-like reflexes, so I block his attempts. Well, we go back to watching TV. Over in the corner is an empty box. This is no ordinary box, this is the huge box of the cereal frosted mini-wheats. We had gone to Sam’s a couple of weekends ago and I purchased this double the normal size box of mini-wheats because I honestly just love cereal. So, Chris proceeds to look at the box and tell me that I need to make the box into a Jacka-box. So, I then ask him what a Jacka-box is and he tells me that I can cover it in orange paper and cut out a face in it and then put a candle in it and put on it on my porch. I thought he was being completely serious, so I told him (in the nicest way that I could) that I don’t believe in decorating for Halloween. Well, then he went on to talk more about the box!! I couldn’t believe it. He said, “That is just a really good box, it would be a shame to throw it away.” He was like you know, you could put stuff in it and in my feeble attempt to stay in this conversation, I said “Yeah and you could take stuff out of it”. I couldn’t believe we were having a conversation about how good this box was and how much we needed it and we couldn’t throw it away. THEN….. all of a sudden, it came out of nowhere……the cold cup was touching my foot!! I immediately jumped and squealed! Chris was laughing so hard he could hardly breathe. Come to find out, the whole thing about the box was to get my attention off of the cold cup. He wanted so bad to get me with the cup, that he and I spent five minutes in a conversation about a….box. Way to go babe, I give you mad props, that was smooth!

What would you do?

Scenario: You have an eight year old daughter. She has been complaining recently of severe headaches. She soon begins to black out during the headaches. Things get progressively worse. During her "black outs" she begins to talk in a completely different voice. The sweet voice that you normally hear is now a very low raspy voice that you would normally hear coming from an older man. She begins to talk to you in a very authoritative voice and often uses curse words. She normally wears glasses as she is far-sighted, but when she speaks in this voice, she no longer needs the glasses and your little girl who has always written with her right hand is now using her left hand to write messages on the walls of your house. As time goes on, she begins to try and use weapons on you and her siblings. She is very violent during these black outs but everytime she kind of snaps out of it and has no recollection of her odd behavior.

What would you do??
