Moving!!

Hello All!

You have not heard from me in a while because I am preparing to move back to Chattanooga, TN. I have accepted a family counselor position with Youth Villages, so I will begin my work there immediately following graduation. Huge step, but I am ready.

I am writing to plead with all of you who live in the DFW area. I am trying to sell most of my furniture since I will be moving home. The big pieces that I need to sell are a breakfast cart with two stools and a computer desk and chair. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please check out my Moving Sale blog www.bonniesale.blogspot.com Some of the items on there are already sold, but they are noted in BIG RED LETTERS :)

Thanks for your help!!

This post may tend to be a bit of a vent....so prepare yourselves.

How much power are parent's giving their children. Does anyone else see that many parent's today are letting their children control them. I was watching the Today show the other morning as I was getting ready for work, and they were talking about cars, of all things. The topic was on how many car companies are trying to make certain cars to appeal to women, mostly moms. They interviewed a woman who had recently bought a minivan, and she actually made the comment that the children are the rulers of the household. She bought this certain van because it had the DVD player and each kid could have their own space, so that would make them happy.

Of course, I have no children, so maybe my story will be different when I do, but I have worked with families and I see a trend that parents have completely lost the meaning of discipline. They have used their TV for a babysitter, and so when the children cant sit still and behave once they go to school, then they shake their heads in bewilderment. It seems that parents are giving up too easily. I know that having a child is one of the most important and special things that can happen to a person, but I just think that some parents are not actually being the adults in the home. They are allowing the children to determine all things acceptable. I am very thankful for the discipline that I received growing up. I had consequences for my bad behavior as a child and teenager, and I am better because of it.

Meet...Reesie

Lauren got a new puppy!! She is soooooo adorable and I love, love, love her so much!! Below is a picture of me with her. The only way that you can really see her is because she is wearing a sweater that I bought her. She is almost completely black, but she does have streaks of light brown, so Lauren named her Reese Cup and we call her Reesie. She is very tiny. She is called a Yorkie Poo, which is a mix of Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle. She is only 8 weeks old here and she is only supposed to gain 2 more pounds to be full grown, so she will stay a puppy forever!! AND she does not shed....so she is pretty much the perfect dog! Her Auntie Bo-nizzle and Uncle Chris love her very much!!

Could I be cheezing any more in this pic??

Awwww

Spring Has Sprung

Well, I actually think that Texas skips Spring. It goes from 50 degrees to 85 degrees. So, we go from Winter to Summer...anyway, I thought I would bring back some of the pictures that Chris and I took at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth on our one year anniversary last April.
I hope you enjoy!

I miss Auburn

I am really missing Auburn today, so I found these photos online to feed my nostalgia...

Toomers Corner after a football victory

Probably the most photographed place on campus

You may not be able to see very well, but about 1 block past the red arrow is where I used to live, and the yellow circle is where the majority of my classes were held

Well, I am about to finally post several pictures. The first pictures that you will see will be from my recent bday and a my first bday. I thought it would be nice to see how much I have grown (ha ha).
Then, I will post some pics from our recent painting extravaganza. Lauren moved to a new salon, so we had the privilege of painting her new room. We had a lot of fun with this!

Then I am going to post some pics that will give you a good idea of why I am often laughing so hard that my stomach hurts when Chris and I get together. Last Oct. we went to Gardenridge to pick up a few things. Well, since it was around Halloween, they had several costume type things in the store and so Chris and I had a lot of fun and were able to capture some of it on camera. So enjoy...
Happy Birthday to me! Chris and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for my bday, and this is the Godiva cheesecake all for me! It was very good.

Tis is me on my first birthday. Arent we all glad that I was able to learn to use a fork.

We were very glad that Chris volunteered to get on the ladder. He was the master painter!

Angela working hard. She did a great job seeing as this was her first time to paint.

Lauren taking a break

Hey! Get back to work!
